Banky W says, “Don’t let the views of other individuals on social networking sites define you.”
He claims that the world is now ruled by people’s opinions rather than just caring about them.
Banky W, a politician and artist from Nigeria, has offered advice to the general public on how to deal with the need for approval on social media.
On the most recent edition of Hawa Magaji’s Who’s In My House, Banky W made an appearance as a guest. He was questioned about how he and his spouse, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, manage to maintain their privacy when they were there. The singer retorted that they had learnt to not let other people’s ideas dictate who they are.
He emphasized that individuals shouldn’t look to other people for approval, adding, “”Don’t get approval from the feedback section, which is very hard to do in today’s times.”
“The reason for this is that as soon as you post something, you want to check the number of remarks and likes it has received. The lesson here is to not rely on the feedback section for confirmation. From there, you may extract the humor.”
Although caring is ingrained in the nature of humans, Banky W clarified, it is preferable to not allow other people’s perceptions dictate who you are.
“It is unreal to be indifferent because you will be affected by what others say. You care about what other individuals think, which is why you take a shower, brush your teeth, and put on nice clothes,” he remarked.
“Caring is excellent, but it’s awful to let that rule your life. I believe that the world has reached a risky stage where we are no longer just concerned with other people’s perspectives; instead, we are being influenced by them. These days, people create things up or do things merely to make a trend or remark anything to go viral.
That’s something Susu and I have to constantly remember and learn, and that’s how we strive to live our lives and get by in this global society we live in now,” he said.
