Security Agencies Are Not Truthful, They Know Where Bandits Are Hiding’ – Sheikh Gumi Alleges
Renowned Islamic scholar, Ahmad Gumi, has revealed that security agents are aware of the locations where bandits hide.
The controversial cleric stated that the security agents who accompanied him during negotiations were familiar with the hideouts of the bandits in the Northern region of the country.
During an interview with Nigeria Info FM regarding the security agencies’ lack of knowledge about the bandits’ hideouts, the cleric expressed doubt in their honesty. He mentioned that whenever
he visits these hideouts, he does so in the company of the security agents and not alone.
Gumi said: “I don’t think they (security agents) are truthful with you. When I go, I go with them; I don’t go alone.”
Gumi further explained that the bandits are primarily herdsmen, most of whom are Nigerians, with a few foreigners among them.
He emphasized the importance of engaging in negotiations with the individuals responsible for the recent abduction of approximately 287 students from Kuriga Government Secondary and LEA
Primary Schools in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He suggested that the abducted individuals could be safely returned through negotiation without the need for monetary exchanges, mentioning the possibility of exchanging prisoners.
Gumi depicted the bandits as marginalized individuals who lack access to essential social amenities such as education, infrastructure, and clean water.
