Singer Teni threatens individuals who persistently approach her for money
According to her, those who beg for money these days ask for pounds and dollars!
Teni, an African beats musician, has warned anyone who persistently approach her for donations to “fear God.”
On the 19th of March 2024, the singer took to Instagram to criticize “beggars,” whom she jokingly described to as the “Beggars Organization.” She admonished them to improve and stop
constantly pleading.
“Who is the President of the Beggars Association of Nigeria? She said, “Una no get conscience again, Una no fear God, so I need to talk to your president.”
“You went to beg Pesin for money three days ago, and now you’re back to ask a second time, two days later,” she said. Are I your dad or mother? Was your name inscribed on my head? Does
she not fear God? Fear God, for association beggars misbehave.”
Teni bemoaned how the “beggars” had no regard for her well-being. She emphasized that they are now asking for donations in currencies other than naira.
“They wouldn’t even ask how you dey, how’s your day-to-day existence, are you okay?” she asked when they called. They don’t give a damn. They no longer even ask for naira; instead, they
beg for dollars and pounds.
Be careful, since even God will advise you to wait when you approach him for help. We’re all human, I’m not God, o!”
In July 2023, renowned Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, commonly known as Aki, also bemoaned the kind of messages he was receiving on Instagram from individuals pleading for help.
Guys, I’m getting vex. I’m not content. Things are starting to get out of control. How do I send Bank of Industry a direct message? Every time I check my direct message, all I see is “oga, bros
please..please..please.” Jesus! It’s excessive. The way you people are begging this thing, it’s as if we don’t have any obligation,” Aki replied.
