NECO Adopts Digital Recruitment Process For Examiners To Check Sharp Practices
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has implemented a digitalized recruitment process for both internal and external examination supervisors, as well as assistant supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
This move aims to prevent fraudulent activities during the recruitment process and improve efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
According to Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication, the council has transitioned from the traditional manual recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors to an online system.
This online system will generate the supervisor’s nomination forms, appointment letters, and e-photo albums.
NECO has also introduced an online platform for the routine swapping of supervisors and assistant supervisors during the examination. This digitalization process will streamline the recruitment and management of supervisors, ensuring a more organized and transparent system.
Qualified teachers with Nigeria Certificate In Education (NCE), Degree Certificate, Master’s Degrees, PhD, and Professors are eligible to apply as supervisors and assistant supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) internal or external.
It is worth noting that prior to the digitalization system, the council recruited supervisors and assistant supervisors manually.
