The family of Nigerian actor Junior Pope grieved his passing
The 43-year-old Nollywood actor John Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, was buried by his family last month.
Images of the actor’s distraught wife, kids, and loved ones attending the funeral at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish, Ukehe, in Enugu State, started making the rounds on social media on May 17, 2024.
The actor’s wife sobbed and was comforted by their youngest son as she stood with their three boys, all dressed in black.
Junior Pope was buried in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area, Enugu State, near his hometown of Uwala Abaka, Ukehe’s hometown.
On April 10, Pope tragically lost his life in a boat accident that also took the lives of four other people. Their boat overturned on the Anam River in Anambra State while he and the others on board were returning from filming a scene.
The project he was working on, The Other Side of Life, which was produced by Adamma Luke, was also put on hold after their untimely deaths. Additionally, the making of films in riverine areas was put on hold indefinitely.
“All films that feature riverine areas and boat riding are hereby suspended indefinitely, following the tragic incidence of a boat catastrophe that claimed the lives of Junior Pope and three other crew members at the waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10th.
On Thursday, April 11, 2024, there will be “No Shoot” at all locations around the country, and the movie The Other Side of Life will be placed on indefinite hold, according to AGN President Emeka Rollas.
