Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s government of Lagos State has given the green light to reopen De-Angels Donald’s Fast Food, owned by the well-known celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest.
This development comes not long after the fast food joint was temporarily closed due to violations of the state’s environmental regulations.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) officials re-opened the fast food joint on Tuesday morning.
It was reported that the decision to reopen the establishment was made after the owner of the restaurant agreed to follow the State’s environmental laws.
A key condition for the restaurant’s reopening is that it will operate exclusively as a fast-food outlet, as originally approved, and not be used for social gatherings or parties, considering its location in a residential area of the state.
LASEPA is said to have issued several warnings following complaints from the local community and businesses about the excessive noise from the lounge, which disturbed the area’s peace.
During the closure ceremony, the Director-General of LASEPA, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, announced that the management of Donald’s Lounge was instructed to reduce its noise levels and meet other State’s environmental requirements before the lounge could be reopened.
Ajayi reiterated the Lagos State government’s dedication to providing a safe environment for all residents of Lagos.
