The singer revealed in a podcast interview with With Chude that he first had authority issues at home when he was a youngster, especially from his father, with whom he never got along.
The house is where I first became uncomfortable with the existing quo. My father used to give us all these instructions and tell us what to do, and I used to continually ask myself why.

I used to question why my father was always giving us instructions and instructing us what to do. It was time for me to eat, pray, do this and that, and I was bored of it all,” he started. He complained about the rigorous restrictions in the family, which made his father reprimand him frequently. He gave an explanation, saying, “Of all my siblings, I was the one who received the most whippings and punishments because I refused to comply with requests.” I used to have this voice problem because my father used to always advise us to ask questions and look into everything, and I neglected that he was the one who played it in my mind.

Charly Boy acknowledged that their connection stayed tense for a long time and that they didn’t really comprehend one another until they were adults. He went on, “I didn’t understand his approach, and he believed that I was this horrible child who needed to be severely punished and destroyed. I don’t think we really liked each other until he started getting older and everyone else started becoming more grown up. That’s when we began to recognize the beauty in ourselves.”

Nothing we agreed on, and I realized that this prevented me from developing a close relationship with my father. “Neither he nor I knew the bloody hell out of each other,” he said.
