It is also alleged that Bobrisky acknowledged not fulfilling his sentence for misusing the naira.
Rapper Falz from Nigeria has became involved in the controversy surrounding crossdresser Bobrisky when it was claimed that he assisted Bobrisky in dropping money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bobrisky claimed that certain unidentified EFCC personnel took ₦15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering accusations against him in a biting viral tape that was made public by social media star VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024.
In order to resolve his money laundering case, he also acknowledged paying the EFCC ₦15 million. He further mentioned that, rather than being sent to prison for his naira abuse sentence, he was placed in a luxurious residence. He further stated that he was moved into a private apartment rather than a prison to serve his sentence for misusing the naira, and he acknowledged paying the EFCC ₦15 million to resolve his money laundering case.
In addition, Bobrisky claimed that his son and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) had helped to have the allegations against him withdrawn, so sparing him from prison. Then, Very Dark Man claimed that Falz and his well-known SAN father, Femi Falana, were responsible for Bobrisky’s tragedy.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, stated that Ola Olukoyede, the Commission’s Chairman, has launched an investigation into the case after the recording garnered a lot of attention.
This caused Falz to quickly become a hot topic on X and other social media, where a large number of Nigerians responded to the accusations.
“Falz linked his father to defend bobrisky.. how is that a crime???” exclaimed an X user in support of the rapper. Or does Borissky not merit a legal defense? You’re speaking as though he embezzled or embezzled public funds.”
“From the phone message I listened to, Falz and his father only offered Bobrisky legal services; nevertheless, there may be another one out there. When someone files for a pardon, a lawyer will come get them—unless they did it illegally. I still fail to see any wrongdoing on their part. Another commenter expressed amazement, saying, “I’m really shocked by Na Falz’s involvement.” Remember that on March 24, 2024, Bobrisky attended the Beasts of Two Worlds film premiere where he displayed and sprayed wads of fresh naira notes, causing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest him in April of that same year. Bobrisky stated he completed his sentence, despite receiving a four-month prison sentence after entering a guilty plea.
These widely shared audios, though, assert differently.
