Cab driver makes a slander lawsuit threat against Adunni Ade; actress responds

A disagreement over his failure to deliver Nigerian actress Adunni Ade‘s parcel has led to an Indrive cab driver threatening to sue her. The actress claimed that the driver, Frances Njoku, had taken off with her delivery and was not returning her calls when she called the hailing company and the driver on Instagram on September 18, 2024. Social media users took notice of her remark, and she was joined by her followers in criticizing Indrive. After the platform locked Adunni Ade’s profile, he later declared that the Njoku had delivered her package. But it didn’t stop there. Adunni Ade posted images of all of her conversations with Njoku and her fashion designer, who shipped the package, to Instagram on September 19.

A displeased Njoku was seen berating the actress in a few of the screenshots for damaging his reputation and threatening to sue her. “You have made nonsense of my image. I have contacted my legal team. We’ll see you in court,” he stated in his letter. It was not you who asked for the ride. I think I won’t let it go that way, as many human rights advocates and attorneys have told me over the phone. You have to request that Instablog remove the post and offer an unconditional apology.”

Ade underscored that the motorist was to blame in her post, providing context for each screenshot she submitted. I do not lie or scam people,” she wrote, among other things. Allow yourself to be the first to change when we talk about change! Everyone is trying to survive in the current economic climate, regardless of their financial situation.”

She said, “In my whole adult life of ordering and delivering or using services of logistic companies, I have never encountered anyone as rude, uncivilized, ill-mannered, arrogant, entitled as Frances Njoku.”
