Remember that in the music business, nobody is your buddy

Rapper Reminisce from Nigeria has been transparent about setting boundaries in his professional relationships, emphasizing that not everyone in his immediate vicinity is a buddy.

When asked how he manages stardom in a recent interview with Naija FM, the rapper revealed that his early experiences taught him a hard lesson about celebrity and the music business.

“Fame is a drug that gets one high and clouds judgment,” he clarified. Realizing that no one is my friend was one of the things I accomplished in my early years.”

“I think this is the main reason why I don’t get along with a lot of people. If you worked with me and you discover that we had problems, it was usually because I made a choice and stuck to it. I have learned that at the end of the day, na me go suffer the consequences,” he remarked, underlining the necessity for boundary.

Reminisce told how he discovered early in his career that he didn’t have any friends in the business, and that as he rose in prominence, he had to be cautious about who he trusted to be in his presence.

“You are aware that people, particularly those with money, will turn you into an adversary if you do not favor them. It required some time.

I had a child before I became famous, so it took me some time to realize that nobody is your friend in this music industry. You may help and be kind to people, but the biggest mistake you can make is to assume that everyone is your friend. The rapper declared, “Nobody is your friend.”

Reminisce counsels prospective artists to pay attention to their environment, “We all want the same thing so there is no way you’d think everyone is your friend,” he continued. “When you’re hot and popular, it’s normal for people to be around you, and it’s your job as a famous person to decide what you want. There are those around you who do not want you to succeed.
