Toke Makinwa advises ladies not to discuss their female friend’s business with their partner

The sharing of intimate information between friends and their significant others is a problem that affects female friendships. Nigerian media star Toke Makinwa has resorted to social media to explore this topic.

On October 9, 2024, the businesswoman stressed the importance of secrecy and privacy in female friendships in an Instagram address to her female fans, followers, and women in general.

She started off by saying, “Ladies, I’m going to eat you guys up on this video because it’s very important, so follow me as I go. I have something very important to say.” I have a best friend contract with you, not with you and your partner.

Seeing so many female friendships fall apart due to this common error that many of us women make saddens my heart.

Women must stand up for their friends, even if it means defending them from their own boyfriends, Makinwa emphasized.

“I understand that he’s your guy and you guys are best friends and he has to know everything that is going on but if you love your friends and you cherish your friendship, I believe protecting them should come second to none, including that man,” she stated.

She continued, saying that your husband or boyfriend shouldn’t know anything that your closest friend confides in you about, especially if it involves boys or something she’s going through in her life.

Why? as he isn’t her closest pal.”

She made the point that details regarding a friend’s personal hardships, such as relationship problems or obstacles in life, should be kept confidential.

Makinwa said in closing, “You might wonder why your partner might get upset when you tell him you’re going to hang out with a buddy, but it’s all in the words you use! You shouldn’t do me in the same manner as you shield your partner and don’t share his unclean laundry with me.”
