My liberties were abused by the cops; Speed Darlington was recently arrested

Controversial Nigerian artist and content producer Speed Darlington has opened up about his experience following his incarceration and arrest for defamation.

On October 17, 2024, a video went viral that Darlington used to describe his time in police custody and to claim that his rights had been infringed.
“The police violated my human and civil rights and prevented me from speaking with my family and attorney,” he added. I was imprisoned for four days without being allowed to speak with my people, even though the rule states that I can only be detained for two days.”

Even though it seems like I’m not on social media as often as I used to, I’m stronger than anything that can harm me.

I feel stronger now, don’t you? Nothing major—17 arrests in the USA plus this one brings the total to 18 arrests. “I have experienced the bottomless abyss where hopelessness reigns if one is alone and doesn’t know anyone,” Darlington continued.

On October 7, 2024, an SOS was posted on his Instagram profile stating that he had been gone for three days and requesting anyone with information to come forward. This is when details of his arrest came to light.

In a video he made about Burna Boy, Speed Darlington claimed to have ties to American rapper Diddy, who was recently detained for sex trafficking and other offenses.  After the video went viral and Speed Darlington was arrested, he became the topic of the internet community.

When Speed Darlington’s mother disclosed that her son had been reported missing following the creation of a music video featuring Nigerian artist Burna Boy, the situation took an unexpected turn. She may be seen pleading with the artist to save her son and release him in the video.

He was quickly freed after being located and traced to a detention facility in Abuja.
