BREAKING: Man United Officially Appoints Ruben Amorim As New Head Coach

English Premier League side, Manchester United, has officially confirmed the appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new head coach.

Amorim was appointed as a replacement for Erik ten Hag, who was recently sacked for poorly managing the Red Devils.

Ten Hag saw United secure only four wins at Old Trafford across all competitions.

In a statement issued on Friday, Manchester United described the new coach, Amorim as “one of the most exciting and highly-rated coaches in Europe.”

Amorim joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon, where he has maintained an unbeaten record in league matches this season, building on a championship-winning year prior.

His remarkable achievements and strategic acumen positioned him as the leading choice for United, which agreed to activate an £8.3 million release clause to obtain his services from Sporting.

A delegation from United travelled to Lisbon on Monday to conclude negotiations with Sporting, and Amorim is scheduled to begin his tenure at Old Trafford on November 11 officially.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Head Coach of the men’s first team, subject to work visa requirements. He will join until June 2027 with a club option of an additional year, once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club. He will join Manchester United on Monday 11 November.

“Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football. Highly decorated as both a player and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP; the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years. Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to take charge of the team until Ruben joins,” a statement from the club reads.
