President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser for Media and Public Communications at the State House.
This development was announced in a statement released on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Bwala, who previously served as an aide to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, was actively involved in supporting his former principal, who ultimately lost to Tinubu.
Following the elections, Bwala transitioned to align himself with Tinubu’s camp, which generated some controversy.
Onanuga also disclosed the appointments of three directors-general for various agencies.
They are:
(1) Mr. Olawale Olopade — Director-General, National Sports Commission
(2) Dr. Abisoye Fagade — Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism
(3) Dr. Adebowale Adedokun — Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement
Olopade, appointed as the new Director-General of the National Sports Commission, brings a wealth of experience to the role of a sports administrator.
He previously held the position of youth and sports commissioner in Ogun state and also led the local organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade, the latest appointment to the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, specializes in marketing communication as a marketing communication professional. He is the founder and CEO of Sodium Brand Solutions.
Adedokun, who has taken on the role of the new leader of the Bureau of Public Procurement, previously served as the director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the bureau prior to his new position.
