The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has suspended two of his aides over alleged gross misconduct.
The affected individuals are the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma and the Housing and Urban Development Commissioner, Francis Ori.
Their suspension was confirmed on Monday during the weekly state Executive Council meeting held at the centenary city, New government House, Abakaliki.
“Following cases of gross misconduct and dereliction of duties by some government officials and matters related thereto, the Chairman of Council directed the indefinite suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and months suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Health respectively,” a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation on Tuesday, Jude Okpor, reads.
Governor Nwifuru visited the health ministry premises over the weekend, where six officials were caught allegedly diverting government materials.
