The presentation of the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu, originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 18.
It is worth noting that the Senate has reliably learned from senior officials within the National Assembly.
According to the insider, an official announcement regarding the postponement is expected to be released in the coming hours.
During the Thursday plenary session, Senate President Godswill Akpabio had previously stated that President Tinubu would deliver the 2025 budget on Tuesday.
He said, “The president has made his intention known to the National Assembly to present the 2025 budget to the joint Assembly of the National Assembly on the 17th of December, 2024.”
Akpabio has declared that the budget presentation is scheduled to take place in the House of Representatives Chamber.
He also notified the legislators that the plenary session will commence at 10:30 am, enabling senators to convene in the Red Chamber prior to proceeding in a procession to the House of Representatives chamber for the budget presentation.
Last month, Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for the years 2025–2027 to both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
