JUST IN: Access Bank Chief, Herbert Wigwe, Others Die In Chopper Crash
Herbert Wigwe, the former Managing Director of Access Bank and current CEO of Access Holdings, has tragically passed away.
Reports emerging on Saturday revealed that Wigwe was involved in a helicopter accident in California while traveling with his wife, son, and three other passengers.
They were reportedly en route to Las Vegas to attend the Super Bowl, the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL) in the United States.
The New York Times has confirmed the incident, but the identities of the passengers have not been disclosed. However, sources within the banking industry have confirmed that Wigwe was on board the ill-fated aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration has reported that the helicopter, a Eurocopter EC130, crashed near the California-Nevada border with no survivors found. The exact departure location and destination of the helicopter remain unknown at this time.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the crash and determined that it occurred east of Interstate 15, near Halloran Springs Road.
