Martins Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, appeared before lawmakers on Monday accompanied by his attorney, Deji Adeyanju.
It is worth noting that VeryDarkMan appeared before the House of Representatives Joint Committee, which is investigating serious allegations of corruption involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).
Also present before the Committee are Bobrisky’s legal representative, Averosoghene Omuvwie, as well as delegates from the EFCC and the Correctional Services.
At the time of filing this report, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, had not yet arrived; however, his lawyer, Averosoghene Omuvwie, was already in attendance at the chamber.
However, when invited to talk, VeryDarkMan said: “Today, I will not say anything because an invitation was given out to me and Bobrisky. But he is not here.
“I don’t see why I will be here and he is not. So I won’t say anything, but my lawyer will.”
Recall that VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly stated that he paid N15 million to certain EFCC officials to have the money laundering charges against him dismissed.
The audio further suggested that Bobrisky was not incarcerated but rather residing in an apartment during the purported six-month sentence for Naira abuse.
Bobrisky has refuted the claims made in the audio and has indicated a potential legal response.
In light of these allegations and the ensuing disputes, the House of Representatives has opted to investigate the claims concerning the EFCC and the NCoS.
