Chidimma Adetshina declares, “I’m done, I’m quitting pageantry.”

Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up for Miss Universe, has declared her intention to retire from pageantry.

In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina revealed this.

She claims that she has experienced trauma from pageantry.

She bemoaned the fact that she nearly gave up on the Miss Universe competition.

The model said that she was leaving pageantry for personal reasons and moving from her native South Africa to Nigeria.

She said, “Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me.

“People still don’t understand how I felt. There were times when I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest. I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well.”

Adetshina won the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after becoming first runner-up in the Miss Universe competition.

After she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism regarding her nationality, she went on to win Miss Nigeria.
