Confusion As Bandits Threaten To Marry Abducted New Bride, Sell 55 Wedding Guests
A group of armed bandits, who recently abducted women accompanying a newly married woman to her new home in Damari, Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State, have issued a disturbing ultimatum.
In a viral video seen online, the assailants threatened to force the bride into a second marriage and sell the other women they have captured.
It could be recalled that last week, these audacious criminals attacked the bride and her entourage while they were traveling in an open van in the Sabuwa area. Tragically, they killed at least four members of a local vigilante group during the attack.
According to reports from the villagers, at least 55 wedding guests were taken hostage during the incident and have been held captive ever since.
In the video circulating various social media pages, the ruthless bandits are heard threatening to marry off the bride and sell the other captives if a ransom of N100 million is not paid promptly.
Families of the victims have been contacted by the assailants, who have made the release of the captives contingent upon the payment of the ransom.
In the video clip, a gang leader dressed in a police uniform arrogantly claims responsibility for the abduction, asserting that no one can rescue the woman.
“I am the one who abducted them, and I will never release them until ransom is paid. And if there is anyone who thinks they could rescue them, they should try it,” the gang leader said in the Hausa language.
