The producers of Adire, Filmone Studios, gave a sneak peek at their newest original earlier this year. Famous Nigerian production firm FilmOne Studios is committed to developing and presenting African-based narratives for both domestic and international viewers. It is a component of the Filmhouse Group, one of Lagos, Nigeria’s top media and entertainment companies.
The moving story Farmer’s Bride takes place in Ibadan in the 1980s. A wealthy but lonely farmer named Odun finds comfort in his marriage to Funmi, a young wife. But Funmi finds it difficult to be happy in their union, and she finally starts an illicit relationship with Odun’s nephew. Their deeds have unsettling results that tell a story of supernatural beings, betrayal, and love.
The film, which was directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, stars a number of well-known actors, including Wumi Toriola (Aburo), Mercy Aigbe (Ada Omo Mummy), Tobi Bakre (Gangs of Lagos), Gbubemi Ejeye (Far From Home), Femi Branch (House of Gaa), and Efe Irele (L.I.F.E).
