JAMB Extends Closing Date For 2024 Direct Entry Registration
The registration period for the 2024 Direct Entry has been extended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for an additional two weeks.
The JAMB Public Communication Advisor (PCA), Dr Fabian Benjamin, announced this in a statement made available to newsmen during the weekend, stating that the registration which began
on February 28, 2024, was initially scheduled to end on March 28.
However, after careful consideration, the Board decided to extend the registration period until April 11, 2024.
Benjamin noted that the extension was deemed necessary due to the difficulties faced by candidates in navigating the security screening measures implemented to address the prevalence of fake
A’level certificates are being presented by some applicants.
“The Board apologizes for the inconveniences caused prospective DE candidates and pledges that, going forward, the process would be made more user-friendly,” the JAMB official noted.
He declared that by taking this action, the Board would not waver in its commitment to prevent candidates who obtained their certificates through dubious means from reaping any benefits from
them.
“It is also to be noted that candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions are among those on the list of institutions that have not verified their certificates despite repeated requests would not be
allowed to register without doing the needful,” Benjamin added.
