Naira weakens somewhat versus the US dollar on the official market
The naira fluctuated in value against the dollar at the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window, moving between ₦1,445.00 and ₦1,299.42.
At the official market on Thursday, the value of the naira dropped slightly, closing at ₦1,402.67 to the US dollar.
The naira dropped ₦11.71, according to data from the FMDQ Exchange’s official trading portal, which is in charge of the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM).
Compared to the previous trading date on Tuesday, April 30, when it traded at 1,390.96 to the dollar, this indicates a loss of 0.84%.
On Thursday, however, the overall daily turnover rose to 232.84 million dollars, from Tuesday’s recorded 225.36 million dollars.
