As you may have observed, a lot of these postings are preceded or followed with motivational remarks about a newly acquired ability or helpful insights from working on teams. Let’s be honest, though, not everyone has easy access to these chances. Before the Nigerian Bottling Company made the decision to empower a number of young people throughout Nigeria, at least, that was the situation.
The top consumer products giant has given young people in the states of Kano, Anambra, Ogun, Imo, and Lagos business grants, mentorship opportunities, and training sessions as part of what seems to be a series of activations under its #YouthEmpowered campaign.
There has been so much benefit in these exercises. However, before you believe us, here’s a brief overview of the #YouthEmpowered initiative’s developments over the last several months:
The Nigerian Bottling Company has demonstrated throughout the years that its mission to empower young people in Nigeria is more than just an aspirational concept; it is a concrete dedication to having a significant influence. To date, NBC has reached more than 40,000 young people nationwide.
Participants in the company’s interactive, expert-led training courses have learned important skills including improving their LinkedIn profiles for increased employment opportunities, comprehending the principles of project management, and developing strategic negotiating tactics.
Your future self is most likely giving you the side eye right now if that doesn’t seem like something you should join up for.
Saying that you met dignitaries you can’t meet without appointments is a great approach to begin a social media post that begins, “I am glad to announce.” Yes! Participants at the most recent #YouthEmpowered events had the opportunity to learn from elite staff.
For example, Ogun Deputy Governor Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele was present at the edition at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta and encouraged Ogun’s youngsters to utilize the chances provided by this program.
The two-day event was made truly inspirational by the presence of other notable guests, such as Ms. Sola Arobieke, the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor and Deputy Director General of the Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency (OgunInvest); Dr. Adeoye David Odedeji, the Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic; and Hon. Olamide Lawal, the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Youth and Sports.
The Director’s Business Grant is a major feature of the training session. Thanks to the Nigerian Bottling Company, participants can pitch their business ideas to judges for a chance to win a grant and other interesting prizes.
One of the grant recipients at the event, which took place at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, was Awoyemi Covenant Ibukun, a young woman with a business of raising animals. The young entrepreneur took an amazing step toward her goal of growing her company when she won a plot of land from one of the facilitators in addition to the monetary reward.
In addition to the grant, the events featured interactive quizzes and captivating collaboration presentations that gave attendees the chance to win amazing gift items bearing the NBC brand.
