On online platforms, American hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj keeps showcasing her Nigerian heritage.
The chart-topping rapper attracted attention with her recent post on her X (formerly Twitter) account because of the way her words sounded very Nigerian.
Nicki Minaj discussed her opinions over the National Football League’s selection of Kendrick Lamar as the main attraction for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans on X on September 10, 2024.
Because of his significance to New Orleans and his impact on hip hop, Minaj felt that Lil Wayne, the label head of Young Money Records and her mentor, was the natural choice for the historic performance.

Nicki Minaj became rather angry and sounded like a Nigerian in reaction to one of those dissident voices.
Minaj responded to the comments by joking that “Nigeria won’t kill her” and referencing the well-known lyric from Ayra Starr’s song “Comma,” “Sabi Girl no dey too like talk,” as a way to show her Nigerian heritage.
“LMFAOOOO. Nigeria won’t let me die! Sabi girl is not a talkative person. The rapid elevator reaches its highest altitude with my remarks. “I’ll demonstrate pepper to them,” the message says.
