Nigerian actress Wumi Toriola is scheduled to debut in her maiden motion picture, “Queen Lateefah.”

Numerous Nollywood celebrities will appear in Wumi Toriola’s film debut.
Nollywood director Wumi Toriola has announced that Queen Lateefah, which stars Broda Shaggi, the two-time African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) winner, will be her debut theatrical release.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the actress—who is also an executive producer—announced the project on Instagram. “Unveiling the brilliant intellects and hearts that breathe life into #QUEENLATEEFAH,” the writer said.

“In conjunction, we set out on an unforgettable artistic and emotional adventure, ready to light up the big screen with our combined passion and inventiveness.

“Get ready for the year’s biggest movie, #QUEENLATEEFAH.”

Captain Degzy, also known as Adeoluwa Owu, is in charge of Queen Lateefah. Adeoluwa Owu, also known as Captain Degzy, is the director of Queen Lateefah. He previously helmed A Tribe Called Judah, the highest-grossing Nollywood movie ever, in 2023, earning a staggering ₦1.4 billion in total revenue.

Starring in the movie with Kunle Remi are Femi Adebayo, Nancy Isime, Bimbo Manuel, Enioluwa, Elvina Ibru, and Gbugbemi Ejeye.

Captain of the Sea Productions and Wumi Toriola Studios will collaborate on the next movie. The movie’s premiere date and plot are yet unknown, though.

Ope Ajayi and Toriola share executive producer credit, while Judith Audu-Foght is listed as a producer.
In the 2019 movie Odunfa Caucus, Toriola made her screen debut. In 2015, she produced her first movie, Ajewunmi. She took home the City of Hope’s Fastest Rising Actress (Yoruba) title.

 

At the City People Entertainment Awards, she took up the title of Fastest Rising Actress (Yoruba).

In addition to appearing in Queen Lateefah, she has acted in well-known films like Battle on Buka Street, Alakada Reloaded, Aburo, and Ada Omo Daddy.
