Paul Okoye, also known as Paul O, is a show promoter who has criticized Nigerians for telling diaspora residents not to move to Nigeria.
In light of the increased enthusiasm in going back to Africa, Davido recently cautioned Black Americans against moving, according to Naija News Thrill.
In an interview with “The Big Homies House” podcast, Davido voiced doubts about the trend, pointing to the continent’s present problems, especially in Nigeria, where he is from. The singer continued, drawing on personal experience as someone who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but was reared in Nigeria, “It’s not cool back home…The economy now is in shambles.”
Online controversy erupted after Davido made the remark, with many Nigerians criticizing him and saying it might discourage international investors from visiting Nigeria.
Paulo, however, sided with Davido in a post on his Instagram page, calling the singer’s detractors “mad people.” The music executive claims that Davido was honest when he said that the nation is obviously having difficulties, as seen by the departure of international corporations and the large losses suffered by local firms.
He wrote, “Please make una leave Davido. Mad people. Davido spoke the truth. Nigeria’s current economic state is sooo bad and with global companies leaving the local businesses facing significant losses, it’s clear we’re facing challenges. Let’s acknowledge the reality and work towards a better future. God bless Nigeria.”
