Meanwhile,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has decried the recent violence in Rivers State following the outcome of Saturday’s Local Government Area elections.

Following the election, Governor Fubara officially inaugurated the newly elected council chairpersons for the 23 local government areas of the state on Sunday.

However, subsequent to the ceremony, on Monday, groups of individuals engaged in vandalism at several Rivers LGA secretariats, obstructing the newly elected officials from assuming their responsibilities.

In response to this situation, President Tinubu issued a statement on Monday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressing his alarm regarding the incidents of arson and explosions occurring within the state.

President Tinubu urged Governor Fubara, along with political leaders and their supporters in Rivers State, to practice restraint and uphold the rule of law.

He further called upon the security forces in the state to take immediate action to restore and maintain peace, law, and order.
