“Soft Love,” featuring Efa Iwara and Cindy Mahlangu, is unveiled by Nemsia Studios

Nemsia Studios has released “Soft Love,” a new feature film starring Efa Iwara and Cindy Mahlangu, after a string of popular hits.

Holmes is a well-known Nigerian director in Nollywood, where he has made outstanding films. His editing prowess has improved critically praised films like as God Calling, Ring of Lies, and Zibondiwe; for this reason, he won the 2022 AMVCA for Crime and Justice Best Editor award.

Making waves as a screenwriter on Soft Love, Molingoane is a trailblazing South African filmmaker. Her experience in South African television is extensive, and she was instrumental in the postproduction of films such as Slum King, Ring of Lies, Arendsvlei, Far From Home, and Ingoma.

According to the official summary, Zandi Jele, a South African online relationship expert, loses faith in love after experiencing a betrayal on her wedding day. When she finds out that her ex-fiance, Dumi, is gay, she spirals even further downhill. Her credibility crumbles due to her poor love life, turning her into a laughingstock. Edward, a Nigerian photographer, revives Zandi’s fading desire for love when he abruptly enters her life.

They soon start creating a loving sanctuary for themselves, and Zandi supports him in realizing his ambition of having an art exhibition. Despite his dashed dreams, Zandi, who is inconsolable, will not accept the deception and resorts to having Edward deported to Nigeria.

Following their losses, Edward and Zandi grieve for months. A friend suggests Zandi reconsider her definition of love and pushes her to travel to Lagos in order to make apologies. Edward eventually manages to break free from Amaka and obtains the divorce he has been requesting. Zandi reminds Edward of their past and gives his dream another shot in an effort to win his trust and forgiveness.

The producer, Molingoane, expressed her desire to establish a connection with her audience via her film. She remarked, “With Soft Love, I hope to connect with viewers on a deeply personal level, inviting them to reflect on the beauty of embracing who we are in all our complexity, the resilience of love, and the courage it takes to be vulnerable.”

The filmmaker, Holmes, states that “weaving together the threads of love, culture, and identity has been a journey” in creating Soft Love. This movie exceeds the conventional romantic comedy genre by delving deeply into the idea that love knows no boundaries and combining the colorful worlds of South Africa and Nigeria to create a singular story.

Cindy Mahlangu, Efa Iwara, Genoveva Umeh, Rosemary Zimu, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Carol King, Danny Ross, and Sanda Shandu are among the actors who appear in the movie.
