Even though she is worried, Nollywood actress and director Omoni Oboli has explained why she won’t interfere in her son’s marriage.
Instead of merely seeing things from her point of view, the seasoned actress says she prefers to put herself in other people’s shoes, even her daughter-in-law’s.
Speaking with Ifedayo Agoro, she recalled that she married at age 21, the same age at which her daughter-in-law married her son. and that, for her age, she was incredibly stubborn.
Because of her empathy, she is able to comprehend why her daughter-in-law would naturally dislike being dominated if she had been a stubborn 21-year-old who did not enjoy being told what to do.

My son has occasionally approached me to tell me, ‘Mum, Marelle doesn’t like that.’ I have had to correct myself and say, ‘Oh, I didn’t intend it that way.’ And it’s all right… Therefore, it is problematic in and of itself that your child is unable to approach you and tell you, “My wife doesn’t like this
“I believe that first and foremost, people must recognize and comprehend that this is now another family. Although they have their own family now, they are still a part of yours,” she said.
