Tiwa Savage on balancing her work and motherhood

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage emphasized the value of support in her life as a single mother and talked candidly about the difficulties she faces between her music career and motherhood.
In a recent interview with BBNaija alumnus Tacha on the Big Friday Show, the singer enthusiastically discussed her upcoming new album, her creative process, and her experience as a mother.

She talked about how important her mother is and how the people in her life support her while she is raising her son, Jamil.

“It takes a village, raising my son as a single mother,” she clarified. I contact my mother, who is very helpful, and our nanny has been with us for nine years—she started when he was three months old and is now nine years old.”

Savage informed Tacha that being a mother doesn’t end when children reach adolescence and also cited her son’s godmothers, who support her while she travels for work.

When I look at my mother, she is still raising me. She still calls to check on me and advises me to rest and drink lots of water. Even at my advanced age, she still worries about me when she sees stuff online. “Our work never ends,” she remarked.

Additionally, I believe that women’s superpower is our ability to multitask. I can genuinely work full-time and be a mother full-time.
