Police Arrest Suspected Female Kidnapper In Lagos
A suspected female kidnapper has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command.
Her arrest also led to the successful rescue of three children, the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement issued on Tuesday (today).
The incident was reported on Monday around 3:30 pm at Area M Police Command, Idimu, by a headmaster named Segun from a school in the Ijegun area of Lagos.
The headmaster informed the authorities that unknown individuals had entered the school premises and abducted three students. In response to this report, detectives promptly proceeded to the school to investigate the matter.
“The culprits were given a hot chase, where one of the suspects, a 40-year-old female (name withheld), who allegedly kidnapped three pre-nursery children, was arrested.
“The three children were rescued. However, the other unknown suspects escaped with an unregistered motorcycle on sighting the police.
“The victims, who are between ages four and six, have been reunited with their families, and the suspect is in police custody,” he said.
Hundeyin also mentioned that during the investigation, it was discovered that the apprehended suspect had reportedly abducted the children with criminal intent.
He also disclosed that the suspect, along with accomplices who are still at large, had a getaway motorcycle ready to transport the victims, but their plan was foiled.
The Police Public Relations Officer emphasized that law enforcement is actively pursuing the remaining suspects.
