Nigeria and the Niger Republic establish their air and land boundaries
With immediate effect, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the easing of several prohibitions against the Republic of Niger and the opening of Nigeria’s air and land borders with that nation.
In line with the resolutions made by the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government during its exceptional meeting in Abuja on February 24, 2024, this is the case, based on a
statement signed by his Special Adviser on Communications and Media, Ajuri Ngelale.
Remember that the presidents of ECOWAS decided to remove economic penalties imposed on Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, and the Republic of Niger.
The shutdown of the air and land crossings between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger, as well as the ECOWAS no-fly boundary on all commercial flights to and from Niger Republic, were among the restrictions
enforced on the country that have been recently lifted.
Nigeria lifts further restrictions and opens air and land crossings with the Republic of Niger, according to a statement released today. “President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate cessation of additional
