The Federal Government has officially designated Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, as Public Holidays in observance of Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, respectively.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, conveyed that the declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

Dr. Ajani shared that the minister extended heartfelt greetings to all Nigerians, encouraging them to take this festive season as an opportunity to reflect on the core values of love, peace, and unity that it embodies.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo highlighted the significance of this time as an occasion to promote harmony and strengthen connections within families and communities.

Additionally, the Minister urged Nigerians to remain dedicated to the ideals of peace, unity, and progress for the advancement of the nation.

“The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” the Minister stated.

Tunji-Ojo further assured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s continued commitment to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation.
