Justin Madugu received a three-bedroom bungalow and N50 million from Adamawa State Governor

For leading the national women’s football team to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu received a three-bedroom bungalow and N50 million from Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

The presentation took place at the Government House in Yola, the state capital, according to a Facebook post by Pius Iliya, the governor’s adviser.

Adamawa native Madugu was praised by Fintiri for his contribution to the Falcons’ victory at the competition, which was held in Morocco earlier this year.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has given Nigeria’s Super Falcons coach Justine Pwanidi Madugu a three-bedroom bungalow and N50 million for leading the team to victory in the 2024 Women African Cup of Nation, which was held in Morocco this year,” the post stated.

The gesture was made just weeks after the Super Falcons solidified their supremacy in women’s football on the continent by winning a record-breaking 10th WAFCON championship.

President Bola Tinubu threw a presidential reception for the Falcons when they first landed in Abuja on Monday.

Every member of the technical crew, including Madugu, received $50,000, three-bedroom apartments, and the national honor of being named an Officer of the Order of the Niger, while each player received $100,000.

Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini scored goals in the second half to help the Falcons overcome hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final, securing the trophy in dramatic manner.

They scored ten goals and gave up just two goals as they concluded the competition without a loss.
