NIQS and Lekki Gardens Partner for Sustainable Development

This was the result of a working visit by the Executive Council of NIQS, under the direction of its President, QS Kene Nzekwe, to Dr. Richard Nyong, the CEO of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited.

At the meeting, when they talked about possible areas of cooperation and reciprocal advantages, Nzekwe stated, “We are confident that a collaboration between Lekki Gardens and the NIQS will be a formidable force for positive change in Nigeria’s built environment.”

They came “not just as colleagues in the industry, but as admirers of the revolutionary impact Lekki Gardens has made on Nigeria’s real estate landscape,” he remarked.

“Your foresight, perseverance, and creative strategy for delivering mass housing are well-established and genuinely admirable. One estate at a time, you are constructing Nigeria’s future,” he continued.

“We think a formal partnership between NIQS and Lekki Gardens can unlock even greater value and set new benchmarks for the entire industry,” Nzekwe said in his explanation of the “Area for Strategic Collaboration.”

“We suggest cooperation in several crucial areas: Innovation-Based Collaboration: It would be a privilege to work with Lekki Gardens as an early partner in testing and improving the new frameworks and tools that NIQS is creating to enhance cost management in the construction and real estate industries. By doing this, your company would be able to influence industry norms and gain early access to cutting-edge resources for better project planning and execution.

He then extended an invitation to Lekki Gardens to join NIQS at their 2025 Biennial Conference and General Meeting, which would be held in Abuja in November. “Rebuilding Nigeria: Enhancing National Development Through Fiscal Reforms, Infrastructure Planning, and the New Governance Imperative” is the theme of this year’s conference.

Nyong, the CEO of Lekki Gardens, praised NIQS’ excellent management and dedication to quality, emphasizing the value of quantity surveyors in the building sector.

Nyong asked NIQS for assistance in filling gaps in the construction industry, offering contractors customized training, and supplying quantity surveyors for management and contractor positions.

Additionally, he indicated interest in supporting talent development programs and working with NIQS’ Academy.
