Medical Issues Scuttle Victor Boniface’s Transfer to AC Milan

Due to Victor Boniface’s failure to pass required medical exams, AC Milan has canceled their planned move of the Nigerian striker from Bayer Leverkusen.

Despite Boniface’s presence in Milan during the past 48 hours, the verbally agreed-upon agreement, which included a €24 million buyout option and a €5 million loan fee, fell through.

On Sunday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the decision.

Romano wrote, “AC Milan cancels Victor Boniface’s contract because the Nigerian striker failed the medical examinations.”

“The transaction was canceled owing to a medical issue, even though a verbal agreement for a €5 million loan fee and a €24 million buy clause with the player in Milan was made inside the last 48 hours. Boniface is coming back to Germany today.

Reports state that the 24-year-old Nigerian international’s availability has been impacted in recent seasons due to recurrent groin issues and two anterior cruciate ligament surgeries.

Milan is not the only Serie A team to question the striker’s fitness; according to sources, Roma turned down a trade offer including Boniface and Ukrainian player Artem Dovbyk a few weeks ago because of similar doubts about the Nigerian’s health.
