EFCC orders arrest of dismissed officer on Lege Miami’s show

Olakunle Alex Folarin, a former employee of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, was recently observed taking part in a matchmaking scheme on social networking sites run by well-known comedian Lege Miami. The commission has denounced his conduct.

After he was fired for forging a certificate, the agency ordered his immediate arrest for keeping official EFCC property, including an identity card.

In a statement posted on its official X Twitter on Monday, the anti-graft agency said that Folarin was a driver for the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate.

However, once investigations revealed that he had falsified his academic credentials, he was fired.

“The involvement of one of its former employees, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking program operating on Lege Miami social media platforms was strongly condemned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC,” the statement read.

For forging certificates, Folorin was recently fired from the Commission. He worked as a driver for the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate.

According to the statement, EFCC Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede has ordered Folarin’s arrest and emphasized that the commission should not be linked to Folarin’s activities.

He was arrested by EFCC Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede for possessing an identity card and other Commission property that he was supposed to turn over when he was fired from the agency.

The message ended by warning the public not to link Folarin’s actions after being fired to the EFCC.
