In a statement released on Saturday, Tetracore Energy Group Limited announced the opening of a Compressed Natural Gas facility in Ogbere, along the Benin-Sagamu Expressway, Ogun State.
The company claimed that the new facility increased its daily delivery capacity to 6.2 million standard cubic feet per day, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s clean energy journey and supporting the Federal Government’s ongoing Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, which is led by President Bola Tinubu.
The statement, which was signed by Oladayo Williams, Tetracore Energy Group’s Programs Executive, revealed that the CNG Phase II facility is intended to serve a broad range of customers, including power plants, industries, and auto-gas vehicles throughout the south.
According to Oladayo, Tetracore’s capacity to meet the nation’s increasing need for dependable and cleaner energy choices is essentially doubled by the recently opened project, which was built on the success of the 3.1 MMscfd Phase I facility established in June 2024.
Modern Mobile Refilling Units that guarantee smooth distribution are part of the completely integrated energy delivery system that is part of the expanding CNG infrastructure, he noted.
Tetracore has a strategic deal with AYM Shafa, Optimal Energy, Pi-CNG Buses, and Dangote Cement to supply 400,000 standard cubic meters of CNG to power its logistics fleet, and this upgrade puts Tetracore in a position to supply these significant commercial offtakers, Oladayo said.
“The commissioning of Phase II reflects Tetracore’s unwavering commitment to providing clean, cost-effective, and reliable energy solutions,” he added, further characterizing the occasion as a reaffirmation of the company’s core objective. This facility contributes to wider economic growth while enhancing our capacity to service Nigeria’s industry, transportation sector, and power needs.
He went on to say that the new building has state-of-the-art safety features like automated leak detection, 24-hour pressure monitoring, and globally recognized QHSE procedures.
