As federal lawmaker Hon. Aderemi Oseni pushed the party faithful to win the 2027 elections, thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Oyo State have put their support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition for a second term.
At a solidarity demonstration in Bembo Village, Apata, Ibadan, Oseni, who is the representative for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, led a group of more than 10,000 APC members from the Ido Local Government. In order to draw in more development, he emphasised the significance of taking Oyo back from the PDP and bringing the state into line with the APC-led federal government.
“Ongoing PDP governance has limited Oyo’s ability to leverage Federal Government interventions,” he said. To unlock more democratic benefits for our people, political realignment is essential.
Speaking during the official launch of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) branch in Ido Local Government, the lawmaker characterised the grassroots political movement as “a platform to advance President Tinubu’s re-election and strengthen APC dominance in Oyo State.”
Citing the administration’s developmental achievements over the past two years as proof that Nigeria was moving forward, he claimed that President Tinubu had shown ability and leadership.
Beyond crowd size, we are advocating for justice, accountability, fairness, and openness. By the grace of God, we are not only regaining our position of authority in 2027, but doing so with newfound vigour and determination,” Oseni said.
In addition to calling on party members to band together and step up grassroots mobilisation, he underlined that Oyo State and the Federal Government working together will accelerate development in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and industry.
“The public is looking to us to take the lead. We already have the solid support of market men and women, who are an essential component of our political base, as well as the support of traditional institutions,” he said.
Oseni also announced an empowerment program during the ceremony, giving traders in his constituency ₦50 million to support small companies and local enterprises.
