On Thursday in Kano, a group operating under the auspices of the Tinubu/Barau/Atah Movement organized a special prayer session for the triumph of Senator Barau Jibrin and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the general elections in 2027.
Ulamas and All Progressives Congress supporters from the state’s forty-four local government areas attended the prayer session, which took place in Gidan Baballiya Kurna in the Fagge Local Government Area.
The clerics concluded the Holy Quran recitation throughout the session and offered special prayers for Tinubu’s campaign for a second term and Barau’s 2027 governorship aspirations.
In addition, the clerics prayed for the nation’s political stability, economic expansion, and peace.
One of the session’s organizers, Seyi Olorunshaya, told reporters that the purpose of the meeting was to back Senator Barau Jibrin’s campaign for Kano State governor and Tinubu’s reelection.
“Look at the road projects, the food prices that keep going up, the job opportunities, and most importantly, President Tinubu’s efforts on security. He has done a fantastic job in just two years in office,” Olorunshaya remarked.
“In the past several years, Nigerians who used to weep every day over insecurities, exorbitant pricing for goods, and other necessities are starting to notice significant improvements as everything is improving.
“Our President is a man of his word and has maintained trust in his promises to the people as they are being progressively realized, so we have what it takes to propose him for a second term. When he gets re-elected for a second term, Nigerians will witness wonders,” he declared.
Olorunshaya clarified that Jibrin was favored for the Kano governorship because he is “the only strongest person who can wrestle power from NNPP in the state.”
The Tinubu/Barau/Atah (TBA) Movement is a new support group that was founded with the intention of rallying grassroots support for President Tinubu, Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Atah, according to Ulamas leader Saminu Khalid Abdullahi.
He went on to say that the movement’s goal was to increase goodwill and mobilize the populace in support of their governance initiatives before the 2027 elections.
Following the prayer, a ram was killed as a sacrifice for Tinubu and Barau’s triumph.
With significant voting power and sway in presidential elections, Kano State has long been a crucial political battleground in Nigeria.
Ahead of 2027, the ruling APC wants to strengthen its support in the state, particularly because the New Nigeria People’s Party, under the leadership of former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, is currently in power in Kano.
In Kano, supporters are positioning Barau as the APC’s strongest governorship candidate capable of taking on the NNPP in 2027. Support groups such as the Tinubu/Barau/Atah Movement have been forming all over the North to mobilize grassroots support for Tinubu’s reelection bid and to position important APC figures for state-level contests.
