Rivers APC Woos Fubara Ahead of Political Transition

As the state gets ready for a handover ceremony, the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress is working to recruit suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara into its party.

Darlington Nwauju, the APC spokesman in Rivers, made the statement on Tuesday during an appearance on The Morning Brief on Channels Television.

“Nwauju said.” “I would declare my defection to the All Progressives Congress upon my return on Thursday if I were the governor of Rivers State.

“The governor should join the APC, in my opinion, and we would be happy to have him join our party.”

Nwauju said it was automatic that Fubara would lead the APC in Rivers if he defected.

“He becomes the party’s leader by the convention of our party if he joins the All Progressives Congress,” he continued.

Nwauju also discussed Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas’s (retd.) administration, which has been in charge of the state for the last six months.

on the previous six months, the APC has not formally called on Ibas to provide an account of his stewardship.

The National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria approved his budget. The emergency is being supervised by a House of Representatives committee.

“I do anticipate that the committee will be able to conduct due diligence, produce that report, and inform Nigerians of their findings.” In the field of legislation and lawmaking, it is one of their primary tasks,” he said.

Ahead of Rivers State’s return to democratic governance on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu and Fubara are anticipated to return to the nation on Tuesday.

Fubara is scheduled to return from London, while Tinubu will return to Abuja after cutting short his vacation in France.

The state administrator is stepping up preparations for Thursday’s handover, which will signal the end of the emergency rule in Rivers, as they arrive.

Tinubu left Nigeria on September 4 to take his yearly vacation in France and the UK. His trip was supposed to remain until September 10, but it ended sooner than expected.
