Oshiomhole Allowed ‘Hate, Fear’ of Atiku to Consume Him, Former Aide Claims

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s media assistant Paul Ibe has responded to Senator Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North about his recent remarks.

Tinubu’s choice to travel to Plateau State to attend the mother’s funeral of Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, was denounced by Atiku on Saturday.

He claimed that rather of visiting victims and offering comfort to towns devastated by insecurity, Tinubu went to a social gathering in the North-Central state.

But after Atiku criticised President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Plateau State, Oshiomhole attacked him in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

The former Edo State governor defended Tinubu’s trip to Plateau to honour Yilwatda’s mother, arguing that calling the gesture callous was incorrect.

Oshiomhole claimed that Atiku had allowed party politics to devour him and that he was politicising a matter that should inspire compassion and respect for the deceased.

He had expressed sympathy for former Vice President Atiku’s belief that politics must be involved in topics pertaining to death and paying respect to the deceased. He ought to know better as an elderly statesman of his age.

“Just because the President went to a condolence visit, does that mean that he is insensitive? What would be wrong with his going to pay his final respects to the APC Chairman’s mother? Even a weekend was involved.

Ibe responded in a post on Tuesday using his X handle, claiming that Oshiomhole had let his principal’s hatred and fear control him.

“I feel sorry for Oshiomhole,” he wrote. He has allowed the hatred and fear of @atiku to consume him, and he is sycophancy with a designer touch.
