In Nkpor, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, reality TV personality Natasha Akide, better known by her stage name Tacha, has visited her old one-room flat where she claims her life’s journey started.
Fans enthusiastically applauded Tacha as she strolled through the well-known streets of the busy district in a now-circulating video.
She engaged with the local children and made small talk with the elderly residents.
The tenement-style compound was packed with people, as shown in the video.
She also reconnected with her childhood hairstylist during the visit, who introduced her to her now-adult daughter.
“This is where a little six-year-old girl’s dream literally began,” Tacha remarked tearfully as she walked around the structure.
“This was my compound and my home once. God is amazing.
From a little Port Harcourt flat to shattering stereotypes on a global scale. I’m Tacha, and I’m trying to set a new record for the most makeovers performed on humans.
Nothing in life is permanent. Come along with me on this momentous adventure,” she continued.
Tacha’s modest beauty business, where she sold cosmetics on social media and provided makeovers, was the starting point of her ascent to stardom.
She gradually increased her internet following till she became well-known across the country as a housemate in the 2019 “Pepper Dem” season of Big Brother Naija.
Despite being disqualified on the program, Tacha is still one of the most powerful former housemates, with a sizable and devoted following known as the “Titans.”
Tacha is expected to try to break the Guinness World Record for the most makeovers in a 24-hour period, according to earlier reports.
Her three-day beauty festival, which will take place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos from October 10–12, 2025, will include the record attempt.
The event’s goal, she says, is to achieve a new world record while celebrating Nigeria’s flourishing beauty sector.
