BREAKING: FG Announce Plan To Audit N23 Trillion Ways and Means
The N23 trillion Ways and Means debt burdening the Federal Government will undergo a thorough audit, according to the latest decision by concerned stakeholders.
Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, made this announcement during the ongoing Public Wealth Management Conference organized by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MoFI).
To prevent future Ways and Means indebtedness, the Federal Government plans to introduce a bill to the National Assembly.
This bill will grant the authority to eliminate all taxes and levies that are considered burdensome within the country’s tax system.
Furthermore, the government intends to actively pursue policies that will enable the timely collection of revenue from Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs) and Corporate entities.
