Imisi triumphed as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10 with a commanding 42.8% of total votes, nearly three times that of first runner-up Dede, who got 15.94%.
According to Big Brother Naija data released on Sunday, the following finalists lagged behind: Koyin (15.23%), Sultana (7.94%), Kola (5.48%), Jason Jae (4.24%), Mensan (3.54%), Isabella (3.07%), and Kaybobo (1.72%).
While many supporters welcomed Imisi’s decisive victory, others argued it was fuelled by “pity votes.”
On X, user Mackie4reall stated that her win showed society’s misguided priorities.
“Imisi winning #BBNaija reveals a lot about what we celebrate in this country. We continue to value drama and pity above brains and substance. Then we wonder why our politics and society appear as they do.”
Another post went farther, implying that her success was undeserved charity: “The money was faithfully given to Imisi as charity, since she begged for it.”
Similarly, David Pattt accused her of playing the “pity” card alongside previous winners, stating, “Laycon – pity.” Whitemoney is a pity. Phyna: razz/pity. Ilebaye – pity. Imisi, pity.”
However, many fans swiftly responded, defending her gameplay and attitude.
User symply_kimm denied the narrative outright, claiming Imisi deserved her spot: “Which one is a pity vote??? What are you saying about Imisi, the person who worked the hardest in that home to win that money? Pity vote? Must be cr@zee. IMISI DESERVES HER WIN!!”
Another fan, uzezzi_ (Baby Lion), acknowledged to rooting for Dede and defended Imisi.
I really wanted Dede to win. Dede is still my winner, although Imisi did not win due to pity votes. She did not sulk; she fought back, confronting madness with lunacy. Even if she’s rough around the edges, that’s who she is—and she departed with the same personality she had when she arrived.”
Imisi’s appeal moved ulxma beyond sympathy. “She was funny, entertaining, witty, smart, crazy, emotional, flawed, unserious, silly, courageous, and even annoying—the whole package.” I can’t believe the ‘sad’ and ‘poor’ story was forced onto her when she didn’t want it.”
kofoworola_aa shared that sentiment, writing, “No ship, no pity party, no poverty plan – just pure pleasure. A healthy winner and 10/10 housemate. Congratulations, Imisi!”
On Instagram, supporters were evenly divided. Supporters praised her inventiveness, with 22degree_creamy gushing.
“First housemate to ever wear Crocs for the finale — there’s lots of fodder here. Imisi served us to the last minute. “Well-deserved, my love.”
Others, including @veekgram, commended her work, writing, “Nothing like a pity vote. She played the game better. Congratulations to her.
Meanwhile, @gracyellasouthbenson defended Nigerian voters, adding, “Every season, you guys would complain that Nigerians vote for pity. That’s why it’s a game; everyone tells their story. Even Mercy did. Make Una go rest! Imisi provided us a program to watch; she was the drama to which we subscribed.
However, not all were convinced. Riike_001 suspected foul play in the results, saying, “It’s no surprise they didn’t display how people voted because Faith was the real winner. But it’s what it is. Congratulations, Imisi.
Faith was removed from Big Brother Naija Season 10 on October 2, 2025, after a physical fight with fellow housemate Sultana, just days before the finale. His exclusion, which resulted from a violation of house rules, has fuelled speculation that the outcomes could have turned out differently.
NanaAma Enam Avumegah flatly denied this on Facebook, stating that Faith’s exit had no bearing on the decision.
“Imisi would have won despite Faith’s disqualification! We don’t want to hear the “cho cho chooooo” again.
Another user, Maneya Gwen Israel Chilukutu, applauded the margin of victory with amusement, writing, “Who can argue?! Who should argue? When did the money decide to quarantine the others? “Imisioluwa BBNaija Season 10 the Light!”
Despite the heated argument, Imisi’s 42.8% vote share demonstrates her tremendous popularity during a 10-week campaign that kept millions of Nigerians glued to their TVs.
Her victory also makes her the fourth female and second-youngest BBNaija champion, behind Season 8 winner Ilebaye Odiniya, who was only 22.
