A new online platform for the Hajj Savings Scheme for prospective pilgrims will be unveiled by the Alternative Bank and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
This was revealed by NAHCON in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by Malam Kabir Muhammad, its information officer.
According to Muhammad, the portal would enable prospective pilgrims to open and maintain their accounts with the Hajj Savings Scheme straight from their computers, cellphones, and tablets.
He claims that the action is intended to increase the scheme’s nationwide scope and streamline access to it.
According to him, representatives from the Alternative Bank met with Hajj Savings Scheme representatives in Abuja to talk about the platform’s development and launch.
Along with top employees from both organizations, he noted that Rabiat Akinwale, an information technology specialist representing the Alternative Bank, and Mr. Abdulmumin Aliyu, the head of the Hajj Savings Scheme, conducted the session.
“The initiative is a significant step forward in modernizing the Hajj planning process, making it easier for prospective pilgrims to save toward their spiritual journey,” Aliyu said in his remarks.
In addition to integrating services at Alternative Bank locations across the country, the website will provide prospective pilgrims with complete control over their savings accounts, whether on smartphones or other devices.
“Once the applicant creates his or her profile with BVN, NIN, phone number, and email address, the platform will provide real-time information, eliminate paperwork, and reduce delays in account management,” he stated.
Akinwale also reassured NAHCON of the bank’s dedication to creating a safe and easy-to-use website.
She stated, “We want to make sure that pilgrims can access and keep an eye on their HSS accounts at any time, from any location, while upholding the highest security and transparency standards.”
