NULGE Writes Fubara Over Automatic Promotion Of Rivers LG Workers, N35,000 Wage Award

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Rivers Chapter has expressed its appreciation to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for granting the prompt promotion of Local Government workers along with their full financial benefits.

In a statement released in Port Harcourt and shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the state President of the union, Clifford Paul, commended Fubara for this decision.

Paul mentioned that the governor made this announcement during a meeting with NULGE leadership and principal officers of the Local Government Councils at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Additionally, Paul highlighted that the governor also sanctioned the immediate implementation of an N30,000 minimum wage for Local Government workers.

“The governor also approved the immediate implementation of the N35,000 wage award approved by the Federal Government to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy in the country.

“We commend the governor for the inclusion of NULGE in the Local Government Pensions Board, as provided by law.

“We also commend him for the implementation of a consolidated salary structure for Local Government workers retiring at grade level 17,” Paul added.

He assured of his unreserved loyalty, cooperation, solidarity and support of the local government workers to the Fubara-led government.
