Osimhen, Lookman Arrive in South Africa for 2026 World Cup Qualifier

As Nigeria gets ready for Friday’s pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho, at least 17 Super Eagles players, including star forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, have arrived in Polokwane, South Africa.

A day after the backroom personnel and technical crew arrived to formally establish the team’s facility, the players arrived at camp on Tuesday.

William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Terem Moffi, Moses Simon, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Frank Onyeka, and Tolu Arokodare are among those who have already arrived at the camp.

Goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Adebayo Adeleye, and Amas Obasogie, as well as returnee defender Semi Ajayi, are also present. Prior to full team training sessions, they have all connected with the coaching staff.

With 11 points from eight games, Nigeria is currently ranked third in Group C of the CAF World Cup qualification campaign. To maintain their prospects of qualifying, the Super Eagles need to win their final two games and pray for positive outcomes from South Africa and the Benin Republic.

Lesotho will play the three-time African champions on Friday in Polokwane in what is anticipated to be a crucial matchup.
