As the city of Ibadan prepares for a momentous occasion—the coronation of Senator Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland—the countdown has officially begun.
A thorough eight-day schedule of events that captures the spiritual profundity, cultural diversity, and academic importance of Ibadan’s traditional history has been revealed by the organizers.
Our correspondent was able to secure a copy of the schedule, which blends religion, academia, art, and celebration. It runs from Monday, September 22, until Saturday, October 4, 2025.
According to reports, Ladoja’s nomination was confirmed by Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State.
The coronation ceremony was scheduled on Friday, September 26, 2025, one day after Ladoja’s 81st birthday. Makinde made this announcement while visiting the Olubadan designate at his Bodija home in Ibadan.
